POS Software for Retail in Pakistan

What a Pakistani retail or restaurant POS must do that cloud-only imports ignore — offline billing, tax invoices, multi-branch stock and Urdu receipts.

A point of sale system is the one piece of software that cannot fail during business hours. In Pakistan that usually means it also cannot fail when the internet drops, which immediately rules out a surprising number of imported cloud-only tools.

What a local POS has to do

  • Bill offline and sync when the connection returns.
  • Print tax-compliant invoices and thermal receipts, often in Urdu and English.
  • Handle barcodes, weighing scales, and mixed cash / card / jazzcash / easypaisa.
  • Track stock across branches without a spreadsheet in the middle.
  • Limit discounts and voids by role, with a shift report the owner can trust.

Cloud-only POS tools fail at the counter

If the terminal freezes every time the DSL blips, you lose the lunch rush. Offline-first architecture is not an upsell — it is the difference between a usable system and an expensive paperweight. That is why our POS software runs locally and syncs, rather than depending on a live API for every bill.

FBR integration is a requirement, not a feature

If you are a Tier-1 retailer under section 2(43A) of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, the counter has to report sales to FBR in real time and print an FBR invoice number and QR code on the receipt. Any one of the seven tests triggers it — a card machine or a twelve-month electricity bill over Rs 1,200,000 is enough on its own, which catches far more single shops than owners expect. We cover what the till must do in FBR POS integration, and who is caught in the Tier-1 tests.

Two things worth knowing before you are quoted for it: FBR charges the registered person no fee, and only an FBR licensed integrator may configure your software for transmission — PRAL does that free of cost. We build the POS so it emits compliant invoice data; the fiscal link runs through PRAL or the licensed integrator you appoint. We are not a licensed integrator.

POS and inventory are one system

Every sale should deduct stock. Every return should put it back. Every transfer between branches should be visible in transit. If those movements live in a different tool, the numbers drift within a week. Read our inventory guide or the inventory service page.

If your current POS stops when the internet does, describe the counter to us. We will tell you whether a configuration or a custom build is the cheaper fix.
