AdSense rejects most first applications. Not because the reviewer is unfair — because the site is thin, confusing, or missing the pages Google requires of any publisher that wants to show ads next to other people's content.
What reviewers actually look for
- Original, useful content in enough volume that a visitor can spend time on the site.
- Clear navigation to Home, About, Contact, Privacy and (if needed) Terms.
- A site that works on mobile and loads in a reasonable time.
- No copied articles, scraped galleries or doorway pages.
- A privacy policy that actually describes what you collect.
Content volume: quality over padding
There is no official "minimum article count". In practice, sites with a handful of thin posts get rejected and sites with 15–25 substantial, original articles plus real service pages get approved. Do not publish 50 AI stubs to hit a number. Publish fewer, better pages — the same standard we apply to this blog.
Common rejection reasons
- 1Insufficient content — a homepage and two posts is not a publisher site.
- 2Navigational issues — broken menus, pages that 404, no contact path.
- 3Valuable inventory / policy — adult, dangerous, or copyrighted content.
- 4Low-value content — spun text, doorway pages, copied product descriptions.
- 5Site not ready — placeholder images, lorem ipsum, "coming soon".
A readiness checklist
- About, Contact, Privacy, Terms — all live and linked in the footer.
- Every important page returns 200 and is in the sitemap.
- Unique titles and meta descriptions. One H1 per page.
- Original articles of genuine use, internally linked to services.
- Consent / cookie notice if you serve the EU or UK.
- No mixed content, no malware flags in Search Console.
